Details: The goal of this project was to give voice to women with a stake in hiking culture. Their handwritten anecdotes are layered over a stylized topographical map. Their stories devolve from language into texture, and through this process, these women to become the landscape. // Square envelope fold. Printed on a Vandercook using polymer plates and foam sheets in the Arizona State University type shop. Text and handwriting by Jessica Boykin, Sarah Glady, and Lakshami Mahajan.

The Veteran

Details: This piece has two sides: the first depicts the war setting and the second contains the story of a veteran returned home. The story is shaped around cut-outs of a solider, through which the reader can see sections of desert. The form represents the veteran’s internal life; though home, he is still haunted by memories of the war. // Accordion fold, cut-outs. Printed on a Vandercook using polymer plates and foam sheets in the Arizona State University type shop. Text by Joseph Scapellato also appeared in PANK.
